Family support is an individual package of support delivered by a trained family support worker who will visit the family at home. Family support workers are skilled in engaging families and work in partnership with them to agree a way forward through the challenges they are facing.
We work with families across a range of areas from parenting skills to housing and finance issues and supporting learning.
Family Support Workers are experienced lead professionals in the Early Help assessment process, which seeks to promote positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families through integrated multi-agency working.
Progress is reviewed at 6 weeks in order to ensure that we achieve the best outcomes. At review, relevant professionals are consulted to confirm whether all the outcomes have been achieved. The support process is structured and systematic.
The success of our interventions is consistently high and a testament to our amazing Family Support Workers. Below are some quotes from those we work with.
“Very positive help has been given. The reassurance of knowing that S has had someone to talk to has been a great help”. (School)
“Claire has been a great asset and will be greatly missed. The advice, support and friendship has been invaluable” (Parent)
“I have been very grateful for the services provided and will keep Exeter Community Initiatives in mind in the future”. (Social Worker)
