Relieving pressure for GPs by providing social support for mothers.
GP Link is designed to help GPs reduce the increasing demands on their time, by supporting mums who repeatedly visit them with concerns relating to mental health, child behaviour or family based stress. We provide a family support worker who works with families at home to grow resilience, tackle practical issues and share new parenting approaches.
The project is part of the wider umbrella project Integrated Care in Exeter (ICE): a plan to improve health outcomes for people in the city through a variety of organisations working together. The project is an acknowledgement that, in some cases, medical treatment in isolation is not able to achieve long-lasting change
ECI is now inviting other GP practices across Devon, who feel they could benefit from this support, to get involved. GP practices wanting more information about how to become involved in the project should contact FamilyResource@eci.org.uk.
